Research area
My research background is in the physical geosciences, focussing on environmental reconstruction, landscape change and natural hazards, in particular glacio-volcanic jökulhlaup (glacial outburst floods) in Iceland, tectonic geomorphology and volcanic hazards in New Zealand, and assessing coastal flood risk in Scotland, UK. I have been employed for a decade in delivering sustainable management of the coastal and marine environment of the East coast of Scotland, focussed on targeted stakeholder engagement, integrated coastal management and marine planning. I am based at ETH Zurich as post-doc for the ESPREssO project, "Enhancing Synergies for Disaster Prevention in the European Union", funded by the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme.
